We done gots ourselves a might fresh new header!


So to start off with the updated blog, let's talk about Afghanistan.

It seems to me that the media(God love them, I know I do) has been rather critical of Afghanistan recently. So has Jack Layton, idiot that he is about Afghanistan.

You see, they seem to think that we are dying for no reason at all. I highly urge them to pick up the latest issue of Maclean's and read its contents. It has a lovely little article on Afghanistan. So did the Ottawa Citizen recently. You see, we are trying to rebuilt that country, and it isn't going to happen magically in 5 years. It is a War on Terror, and wars mean that people die, even though we all hate it when it happens. To try and pull out now, and to question what our troops are doing while they try to fix the mess over there, is disrespectful to our soldiers in my opinion.(Iraq is a different story, so just don't ask)

Canada and the other members of the Coalition and NATO over there are building schools, hospitals, bridges, and all manner of helpful things to try and get Afghanistan back on her feet(like she was back in the time of the Moghul Empire). We are also training police troops so that Afghanistan can one day defend herself, free of foreign troops. So are we gonna quit, and let the Taliban take over again and be just as oppressive as before? Or are we going to weather the storm, as we always have?

I think the choice is quite clear...
