You may have ready the title and gone: "WTF?!" Well let me tell you, we did really fuck them over. Not in WWII, but much more recently.
You see, while we already had them talking on their phones(which were invented in Canada) almost constantly, it wasn't enough for us. So what do we do? We invent the Blackberry. Now Japanese people spend more time interacting with their blackberries than their families! This explains why Japanese society is slowly going crazy. It is all aprt of the grand Canadian plan to take over Japan, and become the technological giant of the world! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Nah, I'm just bullshitting. 
What brought all this up, was a program I was watching on the "Evil" CBC, called hte The Greatest Canadian Invention. Really great show, that made me say more than once: "What would the world be like if it weren't for Canada? Hell, what if Canada never existed?"
And I realised...
Vimy Ridge never would have been won, and Canadian battle techniques and reliability would never have been used, which means WWI could have gone on longer.
We'd all be part of America.
There'd be no French-Canadian culture.
There'd be no poutine.
No Canadian ass-kickery in WWI and WWII.
No Terry Fox
No radio.
No lightbulb.
No telephone.
No blackberries.
No snowmobiles.
No insulin, which has saved countless lives.
No screw-propeller, which is one of the great Naval inventions of our time.
No square head nails, which are very resistant to stripping.
No ardox nails, which have 85% more holding power than regular straight nails.
And many, many more.
This is why when people like this asshole...

How did "Canadians" invent the telephone or the Blackberry? They were each invented by one guy, and wasn't Bell Scottish?

The blackberry was invented by a Canadian. And Bell did spend part of his life in Canada, but was indeed born Scottish. He invented the telephone in Canada though, and according to the criteria set out by the show, if something is invented in the country, then it's that nation's invention(which I find a little weird).
Anyway, I stress the blackberry, because that thing has really screwed people over.

Was James Naismith(sp) in that CBC show? Of course he was Canadian and invented basketball and a lot of Canadians like to give Canada credit for that, but he was living in the U.S. when he invented it. Seems we like to have our cake and eat it too.

Who the fucking hell do I think invented the first light bulb then? British inventor Joeseph Swan. His lightbulb was about as efficient as the Wright brother's first airplane. Canadians just got a hold of the idea, made it more efficient before turning it over to Edison.
The rest of your rant about no America in the world is just empty rhetoric. When you slam a country like that for the sake of slamming a country, any value which may have been in your message is lost in the groaning and rolling of eyes. Strategically strike, young Padawan.
Besides, notions about "inventing" a Blackberry are overstressed. RIM didn't invent keyboards, wireless transmissions, SMS texts, the telephone, the internet or anything else. I'd hate to be quoted, but I believe the only propietary technology in the Blackberry is the RIM PIN to PIN text messaging.
What RIM did was make a really useful product which has taken the world by storm and good for them. However, should Canadians really take national pride in a private company? Should we also take national shame for Bre-X?

For me it's not about feeling pride in a company, but feeling proud about our accomplishments and contributions to the world. Every invention has components from other inventions, so no invention is ever truly "yours". I just think that we should feel proud of what we've contributed to the world...
