In all my travels and in those of my friends, I have found that worldwide, Canadians are extremely well-respected. No wonder Americans try to pass themselves off as us. We do have assholes, but they are an extremely small minority.

My friends in Japan tell me that if you wear Canadian brand clothing, or have clothing that says "Canada" on it, they(Japanese store owners) will give you top-of-the-line clothing for free. They'll still call youa gaijin, but you get free stuff, so that's a plus.

In India, from my experience, tourists and some locals will freely invite you to afternoon tea, just to talk.

In The Netherlands and you are Canadian, you are treated extremely well. If you a Canadian who had a family member serve in WWII, you will be gushed over. If you are a veteran, you will be freakin' worshipped.

In Germany, according to my friends Melissa and Kyle, Canadians are widely known as cool and kick-ass people, who are great to be around. Same goes for France and Italy.

In Cuba, from my and many others experiences, Canadians are very well liked. Same goes for Barbados and Jamaica.

In Mexico, if you are Canadian, and show it, you'll probably be fine. If you advertise that you're American, you'll be robbed, and maybe stabbed.

In other words, No matter where you go on this planet, if you are a Canadian, you'll be loved, so don't be an ass and hurt our national image.

Being a Canadian kicks ass! Don't you ever forget it!!!

I should go to Mexico with my American Friends someday, ;)

I'm adding Japan, India, to my "places to visit" list...

I've always wanted to goto the Netherlands, Germany and France...

And I've heard good from Cuba.... Much of my class went there for Summer Vacation, :?

I wonder.... How does China and Russia like us?

Chinese are alright with us, as long as we don't question their methods, idealogy. Given recent ralations between the West and China, ralations and views can be seen as neutral to slightly warm.

If you tell a Russian you're a Canadian, he'll instantly start chatting with you in a debate about who has the colder weather, higher alcohol tolerance, and good stick-to-your-ribs food. You will then be challenged on these, but not in a mean way.
