Folks,

Lost gets a lot of airtime on the Comment Corner, and well that it should. It's this decade's X-Files or Twin Peaks. It's the cult show with a hell of a subplot that people would blow themselves up in a crowded restaurant just to know the next crucial twist.

Some of Season 3 admittedly sucked ass. Actually, a giant bulk of the episodes sucked cock right up and past the knuckles. Nikki and Paulo were the worst two characters on ANY show period. When they died, I smiled. They embodied the absolute worst of what the show was degenerating into.

So, accordingly, I posted what was needed to fix the show. Since I'm fucking brilliant, JJ Abrams and the crew took my ideas to heart, renamed their kids after me and set about fixing the show.

For you non-believers out there who once watched the show but turned your head in disgust I say, turn back. Not so poetic? Eat shit. How's that for urban slam-poetry Mr. Percy Bysshe Fucking Shelley?

So tonight is the night that I see if Lost has truly redeemed itself. If so, I want to see the following:

SPOILER ALERT.

1. Charlie actually drown. Fuck that hobbit, Desmond foretold his drowning, now have the little gnat suck in healthy lungfulls of water.

2. Let's see Jacob. No random glimpses of Jacob in his angry jungle-shack. Let's see the bastard do something, but not something trivial like do up his fly after pissing on a fern.

3. Give some background on the Island that people can really chew in their mouth like good thick steak. What causes longevity or healing. Why did the Blackrock choose this Island to which to bring slaves? Something good.

4. The climax of the show had better give me a boner. Not just a chub, but a full-on concrete God-boner with which I could menace commercial aviation above my house. I want war, I want shit flying everywhere, I want to see a good glimpse of the over-all story arc for Season 4. Don't be mealy-mouthed pansies like Heroes.

5. As good as the end-scene was in Season 2, it didn't relate much overall to the storyline in Season 3 as Season 1's ending did to Season 2. Is Naomi working for Penny Widmore? Something tells me she's not, but I've been wrong in predicting shows before.

So, there you have it. That's what's needed tonight to make this the most redemptive season finale for a show that truly jostled and fell during the regular season.

Also, Kate in a bikini. Let's see that too. I don't give two shits if they even tie it into the plot, kind of like Halle Berry in Swordfish.

Last post-script. I'm watching the 9-11 pm version on ABC rather than the cut-in-half CTV version, so don't be posting spoilers from the first hour on here.

SPOILERS

...and the verdict?

I liked the flash forward trick this time - it was quite the mindfuck when Kate got out of the car, and it took me a while to figure out what was going on. It also puts a lot into perspective - presumably if they're shown off the island they weren't hooked to mind controlling computers, this isn't someone's dream, and they aren't all dead (there were theories that the island was hell or purgatory or something). That being said, it's kinda disappointing... part of the intrigue is the mystery behind the show, and peaking into the future takes away from that somewhat.

Thankfully, Charlie was finally killed... I couldn't stand him much at all, either.

Sadly, nothing about fountain-of-youth-boy Richard, and I'm disappointed that Jacob didn't make any appearance, nor was that storyline continued much at all... Walt turns up and then disappears, which didn't exactly make much sense.

All in all I was happy - lots of stories finally closed up, and not a whole lot of weird random things thrown in to make things more confusing.

I wonder if there's going to be a Lost treasure hunt-type game this summer... I don't bother trying to figure it out, but I learned a few things from last year's(most importantly what the numbers mean) going through the progression of it when it was all over.

I didn't watch Lost at all while it was on over the seasons, but watched all three seasons over the winter break. Got addicted quickly.

Looks like some get "saved" and some decide to stay. Can't wait for Jan 31. Better be good!
