Folks,

People on here may have noticed our new friend Gerry, aka thelaw, aka 35 votes in an election, aka the Won't Pay Taxes Monkey. Gerry's very upset because at some point in his life, he made some money. And then, the government wanted to tax Gerry on his income. So, what's a Won't Pay Taxes Monkey to do when the government arrives at his door, looking for their cut of the bread? If you guessed "Don't pay the taxes" you're only half-right. Gerry also angrily stuck his dick in the wall-socket in some sort of protest that Revenue Canada to this day still doesn't quite understand. However, they do love to reminisce about the guy who simultaneously cooked one nut while bolt-firing the other one out of the nut-pouch and clear through a television.

Off Gerry went to court, where the government had had just about enough of his ignorant monkey-shines. Who could blame them? Here's a grown man with no balls, wearing a Superman t-shirt two sizes too small misinterpreting laws left, right, left again and centre while some poor Judge is trapped, listening to pure late-stage syphillaticesque insanity. It didn't work. Gerry got his ass kicked in court. Gerry got what was left of his burnt crotch handed to him in a Taco Bell to-go bag.

To this day, Gerry remains bitter about his ass-whupping.

Why did Gerry ultimately get his ass and dignity sawed off by a court of law? Gerry didn't have an education. And this folks, is the power of education.

A university, by design, has as its goal not to help students get a job, but to teach students to think. People who haven't been to university believe they know how to think, those that have been know those people don't. Some people do naturally know how to think, but this article isn't for them. An education isn't all about memorizing facts, regurgitating them at test time and then promptly forgetting them. A true education isn't a marks-getting game with a flimsy piece of paper obliquely named a "degree" waiting as a prize.

An education is learning not that Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence, nor is it even learning why he wrote it. It's learning how to find out for yourself, who, what, when, where and why. It's learning to read a source, evaluate its relevancy, accuracy and meaning. It's understanding why proper historiography matters. A person who can articulate the context in which Jefferson wrote the Declaration, why it came to be and then intelligently defend those conclusions against criticism is magnitudes of order more valuable than somebody who can repeat task by rote instruction.

To believe that a university is an indoctrination centre only shows the utterer to be indoctrinated himself by an ignorant belief. To have learned to think, that is, to analyze, criticise and synthesize solid new ideas is more valuable than gold.

Gerry could have benefited from an education. Perhaps then, Gerry wouldn't make such assinine comments about the validity of the BNA Act, taxes or how the government works.

Fuck, Gerry might even still have two functioning nuts attached to his body. But we'll never know.

OFFICIAL COMMENT CORNER NON-SEQUITUR

I hope Jacob is back in tonight's episode and I hope Charlie dies, especially if it's trying to get Gerry to pay his fucking taxes.

I saw his election results while trying to find anything on his court case - hilarious.

Did you notice the Manitoban council minutes that mention his complaints over the "clean-up directed against his property"?

I'm pegging him as the dishwashers-lined-up-in-the-front-yard, old-rusted-schoolbus-in-the-backyard, screen-door-to-the-trailer-doesn't-close-properly, kind of guy.
