The Dark Knight broke even more records by adding another $75.6 million for the best second weekend of release in history, as well as enabling it to cross the $300 million far quicker than any other movie this year. Well back in second, Will Farrell's Step Brothers pulled in $30 million. The musical, Mamma Mia brought in $17.9 million, while David Duchovny's The X-Files: I Want to Believe settled for fourth place with a miniscule $10.2 million. In fifth place was Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D, which earned $9.4 million.
