Arrrrgh......Shaw Cable

Damn Shaw Cable...I've been having problems with intermitent loss of feed.... both TV and internet for the last 6 or 7 weeks.Shaw has had their technicians out here at least a half dozen times but have not been able to find the problem.Usually the net will go down for 1 or 2 hours,but I've lost it for 2 days twice now.This morning it was down until 1:30 pm then went down again at 2:30.This is really starting to PISS ME OFF since my morning ritual is to check out the news,then post the good stuff here.Well,Shaw has their 'top man' comming out Friday morning .....lets see what he can do!!

I was actually having the same kind of problem with Eastlink a while back. The trouble desk kept teling me it was on my end for the net. So I "made up" a problem with the TV side The tech came out and looked into the "problem" of A&E having a snow artifact. He found a duff conector in the basement and fixed that up. I mentioned the high speed dropping for a varying periods of time and right away he said he knew what that was. There was a problem at the pole where the drop was taken off.
I knew it was exterior to the house since it would occur in very specific temp and humidity ranges. I had a brain fart and asked why I was not seeing lots of TV down time. He explained, correctly, that the TV did not have an OS and cable modem that got confused when the signal dropped for a second or two. The TV would barely noticed it. But the modem would need to be reset.
If they have not checked on the pole side Hyack, tell em to get their butts up there.

I've been having that same problem as well. I don't think it's a problem on your end as much as it's Shaw being their usual crappy selves.
