in my books being compassionate is a better than being a hard-nosed bigot. (not saying churchill was a bigot, but his self-admitted 'follower(s)' sure seem to be.

i don't think it's a good idea to try to fight ideology with physical weapons. you can't kill all the 'terrorists'. that is unrealistic and will lead to the same conditions that existed during the cold war, eg mcarthyism. the freedom we enjoy will be taken away just like the terrorists aim to do.
