Istanbul's blog

I have never blogged before. I am not a blogger at heart. But in the last few years I have immersed myself in deep thought and meditation. Today I spent some hours thinking about why crickets chirp. I could have googled it or checked it out at the library. Probably my friend Emmy Lou would know but I was loathe to call her. She is a night owl and needs her day rest.
I needed a cricket or two to study but where to find one when one needs one? The basement would be an obvious choice as would the attic.
Unfortunately as lady luck would have it I have neither.
Well no problem I would will two to appear. Preferably one of each gender.

Well after an hour I thought maybe I would get lucky. I thought I heard the pitter patter of tiny feet under the rifle cabinet. Some chirps accompanied the steps but that turned out to be a Tony Bennett special on NBC. In desperation I called Emmy Lou.
Would you believe that she is away on a European vacation?
Visiting Constantinople, then going on to Roma.
