United We Stand Divided We Fall...

I'm not going to make any personal comments for or against the war the U.S. is currently fighting... and I'm not going to say much more about President Bush except that I think he's a total ass!? That should be more than enough said!!!

Short and Sweet... September 11, 2001 was a very sad and scary day for America... and it ultimately has changed the world!!! I still have images in my head and feelings in my heart from actually watching the LIVE broadcast and seeing the second plane hit the towers. Then to see people actually jumping from the towers and seeing the towers crashing to the ground.... damn!!!??? 8O

Anytime I think about that day... my first thoughts go out to all of the families that lost loved ones and to all the children that had a mommy or daddy go off to work one day and not come home!

WE WILL NEVER FORGET!!!

I agree that 9/11 was a major turning point in our recent history, on par with the end of the Cold War but I really wonder how long it will be before it fades from the public conscience. It's etched in my mind and always will be, but I wonder about the generations who follow us.

I'm sure tons of people said "We'll never forget Pearl Harbor" and other things like that, but these days, on December 7th, outside of maybe Hawaii, Pearl Harbor is a tiny little article on page 7 of the newspaper. Sure it was a catalyst that allowed the USA to enter WW2 and help kick Hitler's ass, but nowadays, outside of vets and military buffs, hardly anyone cares...

I wonder how long it will be before society returns its attention to Brad Pitt and Paris Hilton (or some other dumb airhead/pretty boy)? I hope it doesn't happen soon, but short of a world war, I don't see future generations treating this any differently than the Alamo or Pearl Harbor...to them it will be something that happened while my father/grandfather was young...it's quite sad really.
