The Innu, like other aboriginal peoples in Canada, have adopted a policy of non-assimiliation in order to preserve their identitiy and culture (actually, in Canada, often to preserve their racial purity, but that's another discussion). Free Speech does not exist so anyone can say anything, it exists to promote Unity and a Progressive Society that works towards Justice and Inclusiveness for all. Far too many have corrupted Free Speech into something that was never intended. That is to say Stupid Shit just for the sake of saying Stupid Shit, without giving a second thought to what the consequences of saying Stupid Shit may occur.

Free Speech exists so that the Minority can say things that Challenge the Status Quo without concern that the Majority will shut them up.
