So you want big boobs, eh? Well, you can have them.

Having to go for my mammogram today - a yearly check for women - I can tell you I'm glad I've got regular sized ones. It seems the bigger the melons the bigger the troubles.

Yes, many women and men like 'em big, but big offers its own risks. We're not talking sex here, folks, were talking about living without problems brought on by big boobs.

Remember when Rosanne did a show - funny it was - on breast reduction? Not only did she use her own nightmare with big cabbages to make people laugh, but also to draw attention to a very real problem in her life. Some people experience severe back & shoulder problems from big boobs - men excluded on this one. As they get older they get bogged down with arthritis from carrying around all that extra weight. Besides that, when you get older, there's no place for these balloons to go but down.

Someone I know lives with huge torpedoes. Believe me, she wishes she had smaller ones if only to avoid the stares. The cost of bras that keep them in the hatches are expensive enough to buy her a diamond ring (that is if you add up the price she's paid to come up with ones that fit properly.)
For her, there's the very real possibility of breast reduction in her future.

Breasts can be beautiful, but they can be a pain in the old caboose, depending on how you look at the whole thing. Some want big no matter what the cost.

Well, folks I hate to tell you this - BUT BIG AIN'T ALWAYS BETTER.

If mine are going to flop with old age, at least they won't mop the floors. Seriously folks, think about mammograms if you need them.

And men, well, there's the prostrate exam.

A lot focus goes on BREASTS. Sometimes we need to bring attention to the problems with big boobs.

My MIL has breast cancer. That's another one we should mention to women.

Someone close to me has suffered from backpains etc etc etc for years because of her large chest, so I agree, bigger is not necessarily better when it comes to boobs!

Also something that needs to be addressed is that breast cancer doesn't look at age..the common belief is that only mature women get it but that's wrong! The same goes for cancer of the uterus.. :?

My cousin and a friend both got breast cancer around their 40th birthdays. Another cousin died of ovarian cancer (or maybe it was uterine cancer) when she was around 45. I know I should get a mammogram, but....... just the thought. 8O

Some women do die younger from breast cancer. Around the time my Mother died from lung cancer, a friends sister died from breast cancer and she was in her early thirties... I will see what I can find on my experience - something I wrote on a serious note about mammograms - and submit it to the editorials.

It doesn't hurt... It's only uncomfortable. If you're shy then that can make you uncomfortable too.

I've gotten a mammogram once, and an ultrasound exam twice. The mammogram sure is uncomfortable, but rather that than cancer, right!? :)

I know an OBGYN whose youngest breast cancer patient was 18..and a 16 year old patient of hers had uterine cancer and had to have the whole uterus removed....so sad..and scary!! :?

That's extremely young for breast cancer. I feel so sad for those young girls. The thing we need to do is not live in fear, I suppose. The reason I get my mammogram comes from the thoroughness of my doctor.
