A new system has been created at my doctor’s office which means I’ll get to see my doctor if I really need him; otherwise the nurse will screen me – um, I mean see me – and she’ll treat me if the situation is minor enough. If I need to see the doctor, then and only then, will I be graced with his presence to treat me if my ailments fall under the category of serious medical condition.
This could be good if you think of the shortage of doctors in Canada and this will permit my family doctor to help those in serious need for illnesses that require more than a pat on the shoulder. Gone are the days of telephoning the doctor for an appointment to see him. No matter if I like him. It’s the nurse first to see if I deserve the honour of seeing him.
It’s been so long last time I saw my doctor in the flesh; it feels like a decade ago. For all I know he could be diagnosing me from the internet in the Bahamas. Thankfully I have a doctor.

LOL are you Military? When hubby would need medical assistance he'd have to see a Med A and this person determined if he "Needed" to see a doctor. 20 years of service and he saw a Military Dr. ONCE. I thought he was a nurse and I asked him to get me a bed pan because hubby was throwing up faster than a pace car. He informed me he was a Doctor and it wasn't his job, I informed him I was a civilian and I wasn't being paid to clean up vomit for a Military person so snap to it sunshine and get me a "fucking bed pan". I never saw him again but the Medic on duty thought what I said merited repeating and I did get a bed pan.

No I'm not in the military, but I'd say they learned from them if what you say has been going on a long time. I mean how does one get help anymore... I really like my Dr. Only with Doctor shortages now someone decided to use this system to get more people to "see" a doctor. Only we don't get to see him unless we're nearly dead...
