Some of you may not agree with this. Yet, if you think about this, perhaps you might admit there's some truth to my words.

The first thought that crossed my mind when they announced the Golden Globe awards were coming to TV, I thought, "Here we go again! We must flaunt our wealth before a world of starving people, of have nots, of oppressed countries. Let's just pat ourselves on the back."

Yes, we saw a few Canadians at the awards, dancing with joy from their award. I'm all for patting ourselves on the back for a job well done. However, we live in an age of rich verses the poor, of countries with wealth and ones without, of peace verses war.

Perhaps these Award shows do contribute to the less fortunate, behind the scenes; however, maybe they should look at tempering the flaunting of the wealth, glamour and waste of high society.

Listen world
To the poor
Watch them struggle
To be heard
- silence

See world
Their tattered souls
Heartaches bursting
To find relief
- blindness

Tell world
Their pained cries
Calls reaching
To be noticed
- ignorance

Smell world
Their scent of sorrow
Wailing tunes
To be tasted
- emptiness

Feel world
Their human pain
Bodies bleeding
To be touched
- Ice

Wow that was like well said. It's like people are waking up to the injustices of this world, and the huge imbalances that we have. All that glitters is not golden.
