Yes Saddam is dead!

Like most people from his country who suffered under his muscle, I'm sitting here thinking about what his death means as opposed to dancing in the streets. This is big news for the world.

In my view, I think it was important to see part of the hanging - not the actual linching necessarily - but see the dictator go to the gallows in preparation for his execution. We see a man god - that is a man whom his own people feared like a god of this world who punishes the weak - brought to his knees in a sense ready for face the executioners. He is not a god, but a flesh, blood and bone person, who dies like the rest of us.

The french channels showed his body wrapped in a sheet with his face exposed. At least that's what I saw. This was necessary, too. It shows the end of black days in Irak under his reign. He cannot come back from the dead to maim those who hated him. It is finished.

Saddam is dead and it's a done deal.
