Ok. So you know that manager from previous posts? The asshole? Ok. This guy calls me up an hour and a half before my shift starts. I was working 12-6. He says there is no need to come in, the GM said we are going to be over staffed and he is cancelling shifts. Well mine was the only cancelled. Alright, fine. I can understand that. Remember, me and this guy have a mutual hate arrangement.
So I am hanging out with two friends from work today, and they said that the manager had brought someone else in my place. I said who... Well....It seemed that it was the managers little pet. I think this guy fucked with me. The GM wasn't even there till 5 or 6 oclock. I think this little fucker is playing with me. He lied to me about why he was cancelling. And then he brought someone else in my place, someone who he favours like mad. She came and worked the same shift I would have. I am going to check the schedule and see if she was supposed to work. If not, I am going to bring this fucker down.

If this sort of thing keeps happening, you should think about keeping a list of things like this (and make sure your co-workers can back you up) and report this guy to your theatre's management, or if that doesn't work, then possibly to the Labour relations board (or whatever it's called in Ontario).
Because you shouldn't have to deal with that sort of shit. It's one thing to have your shift cancelled on you because there isn't enough work, but it's way different if you get replaced for no reason. I realise you don't have a union and likely no seniority rules, but being lied to about having a shift cancelled and then replaced is unacceptable.
