Man, Edmonton summers rock! Yes, I will agree with most our winters are nasty, but summers here make up for it. Great weather, long warm evenings, Edmonton summers are the stuff dreams are made of...
The Street Performer's Festival just wrapped up and right away, Capital Ex (the old K-Days) and Taste of Edmonton start on Thursday the 20th. Foodies love the Taste of Edmonton, a gathering of 40 or so restaurants that have tents in Churchill Square selling smaller portions of menu items. It's a great way to try a new restaurant or two without having to shell out big bucks.
The Capital Ex replaces Klondike Days and is Edmonton's version of the Calgary Stampede. Too bad it's not anywhere as popular or as fun...sigh. Still, they've revamped it this year and there are going to be some big musical acts coming as part of it (Simple Plan, Nelly Furtado), so I'll have to give this "new" festival a chance.
