A lazy Wednesday

Permanent Link by bootlegga on Wed Jun 28, 2006 10:28 am

Well, my brother decided to cancel our workout because it was too hot (and he spent the whole day working outside in the blazing sun), so I decided to go home and go for a bike ride instead. He wants to reschedule it for Thursday but I don't think I'll be able to make it because I've got dinner plans with some friends from out of town. C'est la vie, I don't think it will kill me to miss a workout. I guess I'll just have to push myself this weekend extra hard to make up for it.

I got home and realized I'd left my flash drive/MP3 player at work (that's how I listen to music at work after all), so I couldn't go with music. That meant no bike ride, so I just got on the computer and played some video games (kicked some ass at Medal of Honor). It was nice to get home early for once and just relax instead of going to the gym, working out for a couple hours, heading home and having dinner at 8pm.

WOW!

Well, as some of you know, I've been working out with my brother for the past two and a half months or so. In early May, he took my measurements (waist, chest, arms, thighs, and calves). Well, out of curiousity, I got them redone this evening, and my arms are bigger, my legs are leaner and my waist is THREE inches smaller! WooHoo! Vindication at last!

This is great news, because my weight loss has levelled off and it hasn't seemed like I was losing weight any longer, just hovering at the same weight, no matter how much cardio and/or weightlifting i did.

Otherwise, life is pretty much same old, same old, with the exception that the weather here in Edmonton is very hot. It got to +32 today, with a humidex of 34, so it was sweltering. The gym felt like a sauna, even with the A/C going full blast. Still, we went in and got our workout done, no matter how hot it was. The weather is supposed to be great for the rest of the week and the long weekend, so I think I'm going to have to go for my bike rides in the morning before work instead of in the evening.

What a weekend!

Man, what a great weekend! The weather was great, I got in three nice, long bike rides, a couple of good workouts, and got to hang out with my buddies. What's even better is that the weather is supposed to stay nice all week long, so it'll be easy to go out and have fun all week long.

The only weird thing I did this weekend was that crazy eightminutedate thing (like in 40 Year Old Virgin). My buddy has been trying to get me to go on it for a while, so I finally said, what the hell, why not? I have to admit it wasn't as painful (or lame) as I thought it would be. I actually met a couple of ladies I could see myself dating. Now the question is did they see the same thing in me?

I don't have any plans for the upcoming long weekend, but I'm hoping that something fun will turn up. If not, I guess I'll just relax and take it easy.

Oh, and before anyone says anything about my colour choices for this page (Blue and white with a hint of red), I just want to say that if the hexi red looked like red (and not orange), I would have used it instead of blue, but the red is too bright and makes things hard to see/read.

TGIF baby!

And the weather looks like it's going to be awesome this weekend! +25 or better for both Saturday and Sunday. Sounds like I'm going for a couple of nice long bike rides. They should help me get ready for my ride in August.

Coming soon, how I got the nickname Bootlegga...
