Just another Tuesday
by bootlegga on Tue Jul 18, 2006 9:49 am
I forgot to mention that when we did our chest workout on Sunday, finally got off the 'baby weights' as my buddy calls them on dumbbell bench press. I finished at 75 lbs! Woo hoo!
Anyways, Tuesday is just another frickin' day, with nothing all that special going on. Went to work, went to the gym and then went home to watch some TV and go to sleep. Tomorrow however will be different. I've got passes to the premiere of Monster House, which looks pretty good. Only time will tell I guess.
1633 is pretty good, although I've read better alternative history books than this one, which is surprising, because David Weber is a great author IMHO. Leo Frankowski's series about Conrad Stargard's adventures in Poland was much better, as are most of Turtledove's books. One of my favourite's was Dean Ing's "The Other Time", about an archeologist who stumbles back in time to just before Hernan Cortes arrives to destory the Aztecs. That one is fantastic and highly recommended! Still, I'm always fascinated by the idea that people could go back in time and change things, and introduce 'advanced' technology well ahead of its time.

Just another happy Canuckistanian living under the so-called US security umbrella...yes, I'm a sarcastic bastard.
