Mr. Bean's Vacation review

Rowan Atkinson returns to the role that made him famous, Mr. Bean. Mr. Bean wins a trip to Cannes in a church raffle. Eager to escape the dreary London weather, he boards a train and heads south to the beaches of the French Riviera. Along the way he makes dozens of his comic mistakes and winds up hurting both those around him and himself.

While not the funniest movie of the summer, Mr. Bean fans will enjoy his trip through France. Along the way he makes enemies with an egotistical American film director, is responsible for the separation of a father from his son and a host of other mishaps. Wilhelm Dafoe does a very good comedic job as the American director who is so blind that he can’t realize how much everyone despises him.

The movie is quite different from other comedies this summer (like Superbad and Knocked Up) and is good clean family fun everyone can enjoy. Is it worth full admission? Probably not, but it wasn’t a waste of time like some movies were.
