Saw III dismembers the competition

"Saw 3" crushed the competition this weekend, opening with almost $32 million in box office. It did so well that Lionsgate/Maple Pictures has already greenlighted Saw 4 for October 2007. "The Departed" was in 2nd place with a measly $9.8 million, bringing its total to just over $90 million. "The Prestige" fell to 3rd with a gross of $9.6 million for a two week total of $28 million. Clint Eastwood's "Flags of our Fathers" added almost 300 screens but still fell to 4th with a $6.3 million take, while the animated comedy "Open Season" held 5th place with just over $6 million.
