Veteran's Headstones Part Deux

Permanent Link by bootlegga on Fri Aug 18, 2006 10:43 am

As promised, more headstones from the cemetary near my office.

Here are a couple of the 'traditional' Commonwealth Veteran's headstones you might find in a military cemetary in Europe/Asia.

Based on the 'C.E.F.' label, my guess is he fought in WW1.

My guess is Corporal Dalley fought in WW2, but I may be wrong...

This one is interesting as he fought for the French with the Zouave Regiment, which originally were raised from colonials from Africa.

There are a couple more interesting ones I found, but I haven't had time to edit them down to a size that will fit on here. Maybe I'll upload them tonight/tomorrow...

Lest we forget!

Very nice boot. Thanks for the pics!! The CEF one is almost definetly WWI, especially if it gives a regimental number instead of a name. Can' see it well enough to make it all out.

Thanks again!
