It looks like 300, the Frank Miller adaptation about the battle of the passes of Thermopylae did even better than expected. Optimistic expectations were for a $50 million dollar opening weekend. 300 appears to have set a new record and broken $70 million (the first time ever for a March film opening)! Wild Hogs was well back in 2nd place with $28.0 million, while the last three of the top 5 were all within a few hundred thousand of each other. Bridge to Terabithia climbed a spot to third with $6.9 million. Ghost Rider took 4th with $6.8 million and Zodiac slipped to fifth with $6.7.
