Eddie Murphy took first place this weekend with Norbit making $34.2 million. Hannibal Rising, the latest in the Hannibal Lecter series (Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs), took 2nd with $13.1 million. Because I Said So slipped a spot to third with $9.2 million. Last week's champ, The Messengers, slipped to 4th with a paltry $7.2 million. Ben Stiller's Night at the Museum held steady in fifth place with $5.8 million.
