The Nuts and Sluts defence.

This is a defence that lawyers will use to try to destroy the credibility of a person, usually during a sexual harassment law suit, the target will be subjected to a series of questions and insinuations about their past, and anything that can be drawn up will be drawn up. The defence will be used to show that the target was worthy and deserving of their fate.

The second half of that defence is to show that the target is mentally unstable or making the whole thing up. The defence involves trying to make the target look crazy. Thus you have the nuts and sluts defence.

This is how it usually plays out in a court room, but the defence can also be used quite readily online to win a debate, or to throw off your opponents credibility and thus adding credence to your case and point.

Eg. Let's take the case of a simple discussion of gang stalking. Let's say you are not scoring any real points, and not even your possy can't back you up sufficiently. You might to a complete stranger throw out a comment like.

The above comments serving to make the target of the statements seem like a slattern who is deserving of having such accusations thrown out, when infact said stranger in thread does not have any outside associations with person. However throwing out groundless and baseless sexual accusations is a nice way to throw a topic off base, and to go after your targets credibility especially if they are female.

Under examination however the same persons however are often forced to admit that the topics that they are trying to dismiss, and discredit does have validity.

So you see this is a defence that is often not limited to court room drama's and it can and will often be used quite credibly in forums, and a multitude of other situations, intentionally or not.

I was reviewing some old and new threads and it occurred to me, that the comments made and used in those threads, could be considered to be very similar to the nuts and sluts defence and I thought it would be a good idea to post about this defence for those who were not aware of it, or who had not come across it before.
