Denial or confirmation? by Istanbul on Mon Dec 11, 2006 3:59 pm |

We are back into our usual wet rainy gray skies. These weather conditions are ideal for focused introspection. Understanding the psyche can be accomplished in a number of ways. Dreams and religion is one way but my preferred technique is mythical art. Maybe it is the art of myths?
Have you ever attempted to paint a portrait using oil paints? Did it take too long? Was it a success? I once painted a picture of Emmy Lou in a tea garden near the Byzantine Hippodrome, in the oldest part of the city. (Constantinople). Actually it was from a photograph of her friend Toor who was dark haired not blonde, dark eyed, not blue, dark tanned complexion, not ivory white, male not female and plump not svelte. Needless to say it was a roaring success garnering 27 blue ribbon votes in a local competition.
Some meditators analyze their dreams while meditating. That's Jim dandy if you can remember your dreams. Emmy Lou used to jot down her dreams on a pad she kept on the night table. Never made sense. One morning there was a cryptic phrase " I did not...." and sometime later.. "with her.."
Later while shaving my armpits in the shower only then did I see the words .. "have sex.." scrawled across the pit and breast. Slick of me to put two and two together. Also no more permanent ink felt pens.
