My sister told me last night that she is scared. i told i was too. She was more aware of herself and started to ask me questions. The answers to these questions are all very difficult. Honesty is always the best policy, right? We glibly recite that saying, but it's important to reevaluate its meaning when we are eager to correct or direct the actions of the other people. If being honest will unnecessarily harm them, perhaps being silent is better.

Why are we here? Are they going to help my cancer? Am i dying? Automatic responses no longer fit these questions. That means i have to try new, less-practiced answers, such as being honest without being harsh or critical or overly positive.

i will truthfully share the love i have for her and all my family when they look for answers to questions that are not so easy to ask let alone answer.
