Generally I am a happy person but sometimes I see myself getting stuck in the "if onlys"? "If only I had more money." "If only I had a better job." "If only I had a better body." "If only my parents had encouraged me more." The "if onlys" get me nowhere. I do better when I work with what I have…. with whatever tools I have at my disposal.

Sometimes I become philosophical and try to think about how fortunate I am to just to be alive. Am I grateful that, one day at a time, i am living a life free of disease with a roof over my head, food in the refrigerator and freedom to come and go as I please? When i dwell in the "if onlys," i get stuck in yesterday and forget to live today and hope for tomorrow.
