With the death toll of Syrian protestors shot dead in the streets quickly approaching 1,000, and thousands of others arbitrarily arrested and detained by President Bashar Assad's regime during eight weeks of the Arab Spring Uprising, WHERE are all the worldwide demonstrations denouncing Syria for it's barbaric actions?
How many times has Syria been condemned and/or sanctioned by the United Nations Human Rights Council, or by any other human rights group for that matter, for it's human rights violations? Why isn't Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch(HRW), the International Red Cross or even the Red Crescent speaking out volumes against Syria's inhumane treatment of it's own citizens?
Unlike it has done against Libya's Muammar Gaddafi, the International World Court has yet to issue an international arrest warrant against Syria's Bashar Assad for crimes against humanity. The most powerful nation on earth, the United States of America, has for it's own "strategic interests" not yet demanded a regime change in Syria as it had already done for Libya and Egypt.
While innocent civilians are unabatedly slaughtered in Syrian cities, towns and villages, the rest of the Arab world remains uncharacteristically and deathly quiet.
Worldwide apathy and indifference to the murders of so many people in this Middle Eastern country seems rather hypocritical when compared to the amount of vociferous criticism usually levelled at one of Syria's neighbours, the democratic state of Israel, for just about anything that it might do.
As the sounds of gunshots and tank cannon-fire continue to reverberate throughout Syria, worldwide silence to these horrifying events is truly deafening!
