ohhhhhhhhh
it's so cold you say
fly Winter fly away
hurry
Spring thou beauteous fine array
of growth and budding earth borne
but winter frills and snowlorn hills
have much to test
to hone your skills
for patience and quietstill...
muffled sounds of daffodils
well covered 'neath still slumbering
cuddle in those sheepskin shoes
look out to watch the brilliant muse
of stark and dark and linear prose
and sparkling diamonds scattered close
bright cold and ever numbing nose
to cover with a ski mask's ease
oh wear a cap that lifts and cover please
shiver then if you must
but never think that you should mistrust
it's beauty
so seek you then the Northern Climes
where skys will fill your eyes and mind
with rarity
in swirling
twirling tides above
dancing waves
of whitest loveliness
lay back on then on the snow
watch the mystic whimsies flow
feel the Winter's non allure diminishing
may your child's delight then thrill
with this seasonal reality
think of Winter poems and songs
the sled you got when you were young
and know the waning sun will speed
to quickly course across and leave
Winter's recognition
