My daughter and I were throwing around ideas when she came up with a GREAT Idea for me to try for the designs on commissioned products.
She's a fab cartoon artist but unfortunately not too comfortable with drawing with a mouse (no, i don't have any fancy programs or "pen and mousepad" to draw with) and is not a fan of the internet so she's even less savvy than I when it comes to things like that.
She said "Mom, why don't you do cartoon like bodies of people and thier cat(s) or dog(s) - and get folks to send you their own facial pictures for you to add to the characters!!" GREAT Idea, problem is "mom" is not too great at voiding or making the background image - transparent. I don't have a problem making the background transparent when adding something to an image or graphic that is premade, it's making the background of the new image invisible that I have a problem with.
I'm adding 2 downsized examples of a few of the designs I came up with (had to add the borders and backgrounds to fill in the space I can't get rid of).
Also I find that when I put the image into gif format and try to make the backgrounds transparent, it takes away from the quality of the picture itself... grrrrrr - really frustrated, winter is the hardest time of the year and I'm just tryin' to make some funds to keep things rolling! I think this new idea my daughter came up with, could be a hot seller for us - IF "mom here" could figure out how to get rid of the damn backgrounds!
I did up some products and the designs look out of place - blotchy - blocked off and rigid, not quite what I was trying to achieve! PLUS, should a customer be interested and place an order, then I'm concerned as to how I can add the faces and keep the background transparent!!!
chores are calling, so I'll get backl at it later....
bye for now. :>)
