OMG - all I keep telling myself over the past week and a bit - is never again!!
Never again do I ever want to let the paperwork fall so far behind - no matter what!
I'd done up to 98 - and there was a prob with my 2nd husband who had filed me under him, so that had to be straightened out.
I've been a contractor for almost 30 years and that's how I've filed and unfortunately my hubby was on A.J.E. due to steel pins and hip replacements from an old motorsycle accident. After things were straightened out, he tried to get alimony - and I suppose when the woman makes more than the hubby, that's how it all works, but we'd only been married for 6 months when we seperated - so, I held off for a couple of years, allowing my income to drop - and we know what that means.
So, I finally did my 99's - 00's and almost completed 01's.
In the meantime, Kat sorted out 2003's and I hardly have any paperwork for 2002 - lost a bit here and there, but I do have all the print outs of the old Vet billing and food/litter receipts.

Once I get my 04's-05's-06's completed, mine and the shelters, I have a bank that will permit me a loan on my TP1's and charity filings - and I don't have to wait for government results, due to the fact that the non profit's taxes need to be audited - that will be good enought for them.
We are not making a purchase for the society, however, it will show how much I do donate in funds, which tallies and will be helpful in showing my income.
I explained that upon relocation, showing an investment, that sponsors will provide assistance and that reduces my personal spendings with the society - giving me a few more bucks in my own pocket that I can use to pay a mortgage.

So the race is on, my head feels like a pumpkin and thank goodness, Kat's on the ball, she's picked off receipts that I had placed in envelopes for the right month, just not the right year..... A-N-D .....
....A..N..D...
she picked off purchase receipts off of a particular cash register...

Kat here has been on the board for some time. She went back to school a few years ago for book-keeping and studied in accounting.
She has sought out employment through larger non profit agencies and learned new ins and outs on how to do our society's books.

Without my paperwork done, I'm not getting anywhere real fast, so my daughter and a few buds, cleaned up the camper and set up shop to get my paperwork in order.
My daughter has done a lot of overtime of late, so the extra effort has been very helpful.

While sorting out receipts and years, KAt went in the house and made these DELICIOUS Chocolate covered STRAWBERRIES, rolled in crushed almonds - she used slices of cut Green Apple toooooo - mmmmmmm, good omg - once i got started on them, I couldn't stop~ DELICIOUS - her job setting up the laptop was done, so it was up to me to sort everything out...
Three years of paperwork, should be ready to send by next weekend. Then I wait on that return.
Then we start into the Society's back end.
We need an Audit and that gets sent out.
Once I can show the income and expenses on my side and on the society's side, along with documentation of the finances, then I can head back to the bank and see how much of a loan I am elligible for.
While awaiting /my and the society's returns, then we'll be preparing our individual cases, one for Recol of the RCMP, another one of that backs incidences that occured and hopefully a case that opens up the entire can of worms.

Without the help of these young ladies, we wouldn't have made it this far. WE make a great team "when" we have the chance to get together.
We held a board meeting based on our present and future options - options of direction, options of spendatures with the societies...

In spite of what some may think, I can tell you that what I do, is not about money!! Anyone who has visited the society's website can clearly see, that we don't have huge graphics of wording that says "DONATE NOW!" on every page (even though i've been told to do so!)
I'd like to think that the way I built our website, that it's becoming a resource for Pet "Parents" or those who are thinking about becoming a Pet Parent.
Granted, it needs updating, I've been kinda busy in the past 4 months seeking out a place to relocate to, on top of the regular needed day to day chores and making an income.
Between Cat food and Dog Food, the expenses are certainly there.
Cat food, without a much needed sponsor, costs $56.00 plus gas every Day and a Half per say, on top of wood pellets we use for litter. (pellets average $100 - $125 a month, without a much needed sponsor)
Dog Food, costs an average of $50 a month, with only our sweet My Girl as our mascot.
Otherwords, approx. $900 a month - sometimes less, sometimes more.
Medical Care, cost approx $200 a month - plus house expenses (rent and bills) and cleaning supplies....
Anyone who has visited the site or visited our donors/sponsor and acts of kindness page can clearly see that we are not into what we do for "money" and oddly enough, most who do donate, are those on tight budgets themselves, which makes us even more grateful for their generosity!

On our website, however, there are some great links for Pet Parents to seek out information or links to resourceful and reputable information.
Pet Health being the main one is where you find health tip resources that offer precise information concerning pet health. One of which is the Vet Manual used in actual courses for Vet Techs and Vet Schools....

There's been another incident with RCMP involvement - concerning my family -

I was dropped off in that village yesterday, my intention to go and clean at my daughter's old place, cut grass and snip the hedges - I stopped at the grocery store after being dropped off to grab some cheesies and a pop to take with me - my daughter moved out the first of the month and is settled into her new place - away from that village.
Now my daughter is an immaculate type - she was raised in a spotless house and likes things that way, but for the sake of it all, she wanted to get down and wash the floors, do one last over on the 4 carpets there and leave it smelling nice and clean - so I offered to do it as she has been working over time 7 days a week - to pay for her new place and pay for the last month's rent at her old place.
Law requires to give a month's notice, but she'd found her new place in the mid of last month and obviously had to start her notice from the beginning of this month. So she had to pay an additional month's rent as her month's notice and it gave me time to try and sell the engine from the winnebego. We were down there 2 weeks ago and cleaned the entire winnebego - leaving some 1" wood and beams in there that we thought would belp with the removal of the engine. We had the tow truck driver come down and have a look to see how he would tow it and we had a 2 mechanics come in to check out the engine to see what engine size it was and to get it started - so yes, the winnebego was cleaned up - the fridge, stove and seating were taken out some time ago and all that really remained in there - were 2 top cages that we'd built. The winnebego was bare.

I had her carpet steamer - there's alcilyde in the basement of that house and even tho the homeowner had built a sub floor over the fungas, it was coming up through the floor, staining the carpet. Knowing how tense things have been, I didn't want her docked anything off her damage deposit, on account of something...
