Just a quic fly by, can't sleep am too busy packing and thinking how to make all this work!
The last 18 months have been "trying" to say the least! It's hard to believe that something good is happening, but hey, I ain't complaining - i'm so bloody excited and anxious.
The place is nothing to look at on the outside - "nice from far, but far from nice"
but hey, it's certainly got potential (*Painters NEEDED!) -whoops i did it again!-
So here's the place... remember, it needs work (*Painters Needed)
- the front 2 level section is perfect. Upstairs is my office/studio/bedroom/infirmary and there's a seperate set of stairs that lead to... what use to be, the old garage below... that is where all the cages will be when all is said and done. Once the upper balcony is fixed, I can then build a lower outdoor pen, bracing it to the posts of the balcony above and the animals can go in and out as they please - with alot more space than what they've had in the past year....

ok, ok, so I won't ask for help....
(but if anyone is in the area - goin' to lake mcgregor or little bow, a hand and a friendly face - sure would be nice! :D just message me - )
Took another load this aft and the original owner stopped by - described where the original house ended and how it got added onto over the years - the whole history of the house and how he - himself built it for his family! Now i like it even more - well, I'm scared shitless to go 20 miles inland - with the last 10 on gravel roads - in the middle of nowhere, but that's beside the point! 8O
The view was so peaceful and as I sat for a break I watched huge dark grey clouds move in and I could see the rain coming from miles and miles away - then I thought, what am I doin' on my butt - break time was over - things to do before the rain!
IT got pretty grey all of a sudden and half the sky still shone and the other was just this huge-massive black-grey cloud!!
I grabbed the camera, took a quick pic and my grandson and I hauled butt - we were airo-planing on the way back and could barely see, he actually got a bit scared... the ruts in the gravel was something I wanted to stay out of! (especially going up-hill, was wicked)
(pic through the front patio doors)

**see any houses in this pic? - nope**

I wanted to get back to my daughter's as fast as I could - it has rained so hard lately (how 'bout that weather lately? usually when it's bad in the west, the east has it pretty good and vice versa - but not so in the past 18 months - something's up) so anyway, with all the hard rains and hail, the roof on the winnebego has taken a beating and it leaks in one main spot - right where I walk and makes...

Well maybe my daughter and grandson too - they always get stuck helpin'!
Any food or brew contributions - are always welcomed too!

The faster I get the crew outta the friggin' winnebego, the better - and the faster I'll be able to get kids out to the new location - to do things - that heal them!

After a year of being "held back" a few opportunities have finally surfaced with new and difficult hurdles to overcome... I'm a little scared, shaky on my feet and very scattered to say the least with everything "left up to me to do" it's a make it or break it point and I'm a little pooped.
The new house location is a hurdle in itself and as thrilled as I am, reality sets in with ceiling repairs, the complete exterior paint job of a big house, yard cleaning and major grass cutting, a need for a new water tank, preps for winter, building a new cage system, moving all the crew (51 animals) - plus moving period is a pain in the ass, yet alone moving and settling in the animals.

I asked for a heating propane conversion because the home is connected to a major estate that belonged to one family and now the properties are divided. Otherwords, the neighboring farm would be billing me for gas to the house because it's all the same line and I know how that works, there is never any way of knowing just how much gas I've used to heat the house with and I'd have to take someone elses word for the cost and usually that means I'd be paying more than I should and that's not something that's in the budget right now. This whole moving thing is a huge jump for me!
Besides, it avoids future disputes, arguements, "i didn't use that much, it never costs me more than....." and I'd like to be neighborly as opposed to being in dispute or always wondering.

The new location is a huge house - with 2 furnaces! There's a fireplace in the living room and a closed off fireplace in one of the bedrooms (i'd eventually want to get that one opened back up and functional)
the main floor is an open floor plan right into the dining and kitchen areas (great for having in small groups of clients in the animal assisted therapy programs) and heat from the fireplace should really help keep the main floor level warmer in the winter and it'll also add an ambiance to the...
