I dunno people, while I read rants and raves and gliding poems, it makes me wonder what does it take to get people involved? To get support, if not finacially, just morally - something that spells out what I am dealing with is wrong.
I may be out of line, but I read fellow blogs who rant and rave about world affairs (opinions) when there is nothing that one person can do - but beak off and beak off!
And here I sit, a Canadian, dealing DAILY with real life situations and because it calls for actions, everyone ignores.... stays away - it's too much.
"oh, I can't go there, too depressing" - "can't believe everything you read" (pictures don't lie!) "she sounds like a bitch" or the best one I've gotten : "doing that is your choice" You're damn rights it is!
'nd while I have a family and have my own problems, I speak mostly only of the critters, some good stories too, but there's a lot to be said.
I don't dobble in my personal life, it's personal, but when it comes to animal abuse - I'd like to think that others disagree as well, but from what I can see here, no one gives a rat's ass.

The other day while listening to JackFM - the announcer made a point of saying how calus Canadians have become.
His example? Photo Radar
He made a point of how in "days of old" when a person would spot the radar, they'd blink their lights at on-coming cars - to warn fellow canadians...
but he went on to say how....
now-a-days, when one notices the photo radar, they slow down to see if the other guy got caught while commenting "better him than me"

I don't watch very many movies and besides, what one person may think about them, another doesn't and while I keep an open ear as to what goes on in the world, the ONLY thing I can "control" is what goes on in my world and the world of the folks I care about or love....
And while war rages on an international scale, I can only pray for those who fight for our freedom and serve them proud, by doing the best I can in life, so that their honorable and ever so brave efforts in fighting war, haven't gone wasted. What's the point in destroying our own lives, when there's brave soldiers out there fighting off enemies who would otherwords destroy our lives?

'nd the pros now say, that where there is animal abuse, there is people abuse and if everything I deal with is acceptable, what kind of people am I dealing with?

Fighting animal abuse, creates a trail further than most can see, it hinders abuse to not only animals but brings recognition to people abuse...
it certainly is something worth bringing attention to - the effects to some are long lasting... I had hoped to find those who agree.
Pardon my reasoning, I really wonder if anyone cares.

I care...

I read your stories and they break my heart. I don`t often respond to your blog, I wish I had the time, but I don't, and for that, I'm really sorry. Animal abuse has always been a hot topic for me and I'm very grateful that you're sharing your experience (even when it's heartbreaking)

My dog goes to doggie daycare every once in a while. It's also a dog rescue. I can't tell you the number of horror stories I've been told about dogs that have been rescued. I get nightmares for weeks just hearing about it. I try to be as helpful as I can, I even fostered a few dogs. In the end, I just can't comprehend how someone could move to a new house and leave a dog tied up on a tree in the middle of the forest, left to die. Or that a man could drive up at 90km/h and suddenly drop 3 puppies out the window and just keep driving like there was nothing wrong. Or break the back legs of a 2 month old puppy just because the pup peed on someone's foot.

I truly admire you. You are a wonderful person who should get more recognition for everything that you're doing.

Animals were here way before humans, and they will still be here way after humans are gone... Isn't it reason enough to give the animals the respect they deserve?

Keep up the good work - you're awesome!!!!

I dunno about being awesome, but I do know my heart is pretty swollen.
What I do know is that people like you, who realize the horror of it all AND are pet parents, are doing something to help make changes.
Where there is animal abuse, there is people abuse and we live in an opinionated and abusive world.
Thanks Hun, I am sorry if some of the things get to you, I just write what I see and deal with, you're awesome!

Nothing upsets me more than cruelty towards animals, I cannot fathom how someone can hurt an innocent animal. Your voice is being heard, and one voice is better than no voice. I have personally stolen neglected and abused animals, I can't sit back and watch them suffer. I've had things throw at me while giving water to a neglected parched dog. The owner was an areshole who tied this wonderful animal to a tree without food, water or shelter on a regular basis and if he caught me giving her water or food he became violent. Finally I had the dog removed from his care, I would of loved to adopt her but I was in a "Conflick of interest" so she ended up being put to sleep. It's a better life for her than starving and dying of heat stroke. I hope all those who abuse animals suffer a similar fate on their death beds. Bastards.

I care. So many do care. You are making a difference.
You don't just talk about it, you acually DO something about it!

I will be saving my Canadien Tire money for you hon. Thats the least I can do. You might not be able to get gas anymore but you can still get pet food and litter etc.

God Bless you!
