My niece Angela is quite a gal!
She is inher mid 20's - soon to marry and a true feminist, defending women's issues.
She is a Child Care Case Worker in New York and sees her fair share of abusive and or neglectful situations. She also deals with orphan children from third world countries and locates them into foster or adoptive homes.
One of her articles received honors through
http://www.standupforkids.org and she is now writing other articles to bring awareness to issues concerning women... recently she wrote an article about Animal Abuse VS Domestic Abuse - re the use of an animal to hurt the female party in a relationship, it's impacting and factual...
take a read at
Are Men That Abuse Pets, Likely to Abuse Their Partners?
...her pen name is "Eyes Wide Open" and for those gals in here who stop by, I recommend a read, she is to the point.
Angela and I have a group at Facebook.Com - called: Women for a Better Tomorrow - for those who might be on facebook and would like to have a look or hey, maybe even join~!
Am off for now, am packing and I might have a solution to relocating, we'll see in a couple of days... I can't believe it's taken this long to find a place anyway, but it has and that's the way the cookie crumbles (where's snookums, she'll be comin to munch on my cookies!)
I've written a letter to our local MLA and hope to hear some positive news and see a new direction, I've sent out inquiries to lenders - checked out the local 3 banks to see what it takes to get a loan and who will give me the best deal, just added stuff to an already tense life.
Huckster - my grandson's cat, stays here with me, he is not permitted a cat at home due to the landlord, he does have 3 dogs tho, at any rate, our poor Huck, was having a hard time peeing and I rushed him into the vet... He had to get a catheter but I can apparently bring him back on Saturday morning, he will require special food from here on in so that this doesn't re-occur and his pee doesn't crystalize again!
Everything just takes more $$ all the time doesn't it, one way or another and no matter who we are!
Last round check up on the crew and tomorrow will be another busy day, I sure hope to hear some good news soon -
I refuse to sign a lease with a $200 rent raise to people who never gave us receipts for the rent we've paid and have the nerve to say we're squatting, let alone pay rent in a house that - by law, isn't rentable!
The nerve!
I won't be totally ready in the next 12-11 days and I do want out ASAP to get my things back on track without delay -
I've unpacked, then had to repack, then was "allowed" to unpack again in early Dec/06, then got back into sorting out all the tax receipts per year and recording them in my books, so I did manage to get 99-2001 done, that's 4 yrs and I'll get those off pretty quick here. Our Treasurer, will be coming down soon and we'll get the rest in order for the refile from 2002 to 2006, get those audited and we're happening again... so much delay, demands, distractions and disorder.
I can hardly wait to be in a position where someone else can no longer manipulate or seek to control my life.
If they had of wanted tax receipts then all they had to do was donate and keep the original plan... I don't understand, but I do know that I've been busy and something should fall into place pretty quick... I want my life back!
Abuse comes in many shapes and forms -
