Years ago, I got a call at the bar I worked at in Mtl (when my buddy was short a barmaid) - it was around midnight and the bar was busy - I was alone to work the floor, the bar and the terrace outside (bars close at 3- clean up and count - finished around 4:30 a.m.)! The call was from my boyfriend who said "my sister" had called, so my immediate question was "what's wrong? why did kim call so late?" and he said "it wasn't kim - it was your other sister named Linda in nova scotia - does the name shirley ring a bell?" WEll I stood there for about 30 seconds somewhat speachless not knowing what to say - I had given up looking for my mom and her new family about 3 years prior. My reaction? I said "don't screw around with my head right now, I'm busy and it's late!!" and he said "you better sit down Heather, this is a sister from your mom's new family" and I dropped the phone and slid down the wall to the floor - yep - I'm the emotional sort and two guys sitting at the bar, got up to pick me up - I couldn't work for about half an hour and couldn't wait to get home to see the phone number that was left and how I was going to be making some calls!
I ended up taking a flight out to Calgary to bunk at some friends (and fell in luv with the city and it's view), then bused up to Edmonton to see my Mom for the first time since I was 5 years old! What a trip that was, I was 33 at the time.... I remember my legs shaking as I walked up the steps to her door.
We met up two times after that and it was all thanks to my half-sister, who never stopped looking for me and ending up contacting some of my relatives who had given her my number!
We kept in contact through snail mail, sent pictures and shared events and thoughts about life. A couple of years passed and as life happens, we lost contact about 15 years ago and she recently did a search on google that lead her back to me. ( i did my own searches but never found her, she married, changed her name and moved to ontario!)
So we start where we left off and this time around, we hope to meet...
She was in N.S at the time we made contact (jan/88) and I lived in Mtl - then moved to Calgary (3 weeks after meeting my mom - april/88) When my marriage broke up in 97, I lost all my contact info and pics for good and now, after all this time, the cycle begins again - comes back around, small world, I'm quite amazed. Nice to hear from her again and nice to think that the world really is at one's finger tips on the net. It's been a long time and I'm so glad to hear from her! Thank you Google!

Ok. (settling back down)
The crew is almost all settled in, just a few more left to go and they will all be under one roof! Contained, easier to feed, much easier to clean, to view and to keep healthy. Do they ever love it!! I'm amazed at their change of characters! Seriously, it's quite obvious how happy they are - when they come to greet us, they are walking kneading their paws! They don't really mind shift change either, when they get locked up so others can stretch their legs (NEED Cages Badly -

have one in the trap right now that I vowed if he went in again I'd hold onto him - have to do some fancy dancing tomorrow and rig something up, the last time he was in the trap, he stayed in there for 3 hours after I opened it up for him to go! This is the 3rd time - so I'll transfer him into a cage in the daylight tomorrow if all goes well - he is a feral, a skinny one at that - black and white - an offspring of Grenier's so he'll have to be confined for a bit - eventually checked out - have to raise some funds first and the Calendar idea still holds even tho one of the gals is in a family way - I think she'd look great in a body suit all disguised as a sexy little feline! - aghhh - need to do something pretty fast - the needs are growing faster than my pocket book, speaking of which I just spent 2 days looking for my wallet, that I mindlessly took from my purse when I went to the bank and put somewhere in a bag, so it wouldn't get packed in a box and guess what - it got packed and I will find it soon - damn - just alot on my plate and my body is a little stressed - my mind is somewhere else with so much up in the air!!!)

Adoptions!@ Yes! I have 4 gorgeous kittens ready for the foster n adopt program - right now!
Image
Kittens are not altered until they reach approx. 5 months old - so they fall under the Foster Program until they reach mating age. "Foster Parents" who have had a kitten or kittens in their care, with intention of adopting, are the eligable adoptors, once the kitten(s) are altered.
Once they have been spayed or neutered, then the foster parent(s) becomes the adoptive parent(s).
Simple, just red tape - foster n adopt program - here.
