The previous post kinda encounters things I was told and how I personally viewed things where my mom and I are/were concerned.
Overwhelming times, I tell ya - with everything that's been happening concerning the shelter and the programs I initiated - the hindrances and the vandalism, the moving and other, then to meet up with my sis for the second time in life, to almost speak to my mom again and show off her Great Grandson to her and have her speak to my daughter, her first born grandchild - again, so that she'd know how much she's been missed and fondly remembered, to having her pass away with so much left unsaid and so much in life to deal with, it's been overwhelming and I've been digesting it all! (in numbness - talk about feelin' like a little girl all over again, - then to be in communication with family members that know so much about what happened, to feel embraced - weakens my knees)
I keep telling myself that everything happens for a good reason and things will fall into place - hopefully soon.
I'd like to take my family back to Nova Scotia for a visit, the last time I was there was in 1987, when a friend called in distress from Nova Scotia and needed to get picked up... so I went and kissed the ground the sec I crossed the border - then I headed to Parssborough to gather up the 3 stranded there. It's been awhile and it would be nice for my daughter and grandson to meet members of the family... a project to work on to say the least... I certainly can't make it back there right now for my mom's funeral and that makes me feel kinda sick - if so much crap wasn't going on now and I actually had some savings left, I'd be there in a flash, my family too! So we mourn my mom, a grandmother and great grandmother, from afar, in our own way.
I started up a profile for "Aasks Shelter" on facebook to keep a positive grip on everything and others who know me have been finding me in there! Kinda nice. It's all helping stay sane!
Visit AASK's Shelter on Facebook
bye for now
my mom in 1958 - the way i remembered her.
