Today, all I am trying to focus on is the goals the shelter is heading towards. (thanks you two for encouragement)
I can't tell you the number of rewards there's been working with the kids and animals!
Kids and animals make a great combination - especially for kids who are not permitted pets at home or kids who are going through "things" at home....
I use to work for Sun Youth Org in Mtl - with street kids (many moons ago) camp all summer and then I put on programs during the rest of the year at Luke Callihan School and the school the School Board donated after Wawenessa and other huge corps pulled out of mtl once bill 101 became final (late 70's early 80's) as a follow up and to keep them off the streets....I've taken in foster kids over the years, worked with the elderly and special needs - plus gone through many things with my own child (who is now hitting 32 yrs of age) and foster kids. Time and experience seems to bring out - knowledge -over the years. Study helps too.
Now I can't post alot of pics from my classes cuz, I luv to take pics dead on, which would show their faces too clearly (what's the point of taking pics if ya can't see their beautiful smiles and gleaming eyes!?) but I do have a few old ones that don't directly show the complete face and you can still "tell" that the kids are either deep in thought and concentration on their projects or HAPPY! And some of their projects - notice the bright colors they use too - very positive, very energetic and accomplishing!
"nuff said"
Then Ol' Fritz with his 7 toes, waiting for the kids to arrive in behind the sign....
and Fritz and one of the program participants.....
Then here's pics of the Dogs (these gals are ours and not up for adoption@)
*poor Sheeba dressed in a shirt - she is just so patient! Kids love her too!
Well, in a nutshell, I figure pictures speak louder than words and these few certainly show what I do and where I am heading....
Hard to believe that all my grief is from doing this! Envy is the only thing that comes to mind anymore - screw 'em - I've got plans!
oh and I figured i throw in this one too - the kids love it! Meet Purr - the wanna be "alpha male" with his Teddy Bear!
bye for now - packing and truck loading to do!
