So much going on in the world now-a-days that it's not hard to see where it's all heading and while talk is per say "cheap" - action gets things done - not opinions right?
So while I write about what we do, it's my own way of trying to make the world a better place cuz unless I strap on the ol' army boots, there's nothing I can do about world events.
And while the world and opinions surge forward with each new day, I've got enuff with keeping myself afloat - in spite of what other's may think.
We've been focusing on attaining a commercial building as well.
The commercial building would be the place where strays and lost animals would be brought for detainment and where other activities could take place.
The county is quite spread out, with 5 villages and a town.
The new house, is somewhat smack in the middle which would make it easier for me to drop off any strays of lost animals that bylaw would bring us and I could take them to the shelter.
The location would also be somewhat centered and accessible to 3 of the villages, making it easy for Volunteers to visit and give in a few hours... it would be a neutral place - more professional.
I don't have my full Vet Tech certificate as yet (time and money will fix that), however I do administer needles and medications - knowing how to sight certain diseases and acknowledging specific signs of illnesses. (trust me if i'm not sure of something, my vets can verify that I call them, no matter what time of day or night it is -)
Once the new arrivals have been quarentined for 7 days and have a clean bill of health by the Vet, then they'd be taken down to the commercial building where the main population would be centered.
As things stand, there are two other gals who have animals at their homes, then I have the program animals and there's no room to take on any other animals at this time - and there is such a need!
Again this week, I had to refuse 4 animals and had 2 come looking to see if I had maybe found theirs or if Bylaw trapped them.
The commercial building has a great location off the main highway, is for sale by owner, who is rooting for us and has enough space to drop the 2 cottage type buildings that were donated to us.
The 2 cottage type buildings are to be turned into - cottages for clients to stay in, one is already on premises and the other is waiting till we see if we get the building. I was considering bringing them to the new house, but I would like my privacy and perhaps that's not the best method of getting it. My licence permits 3 additional persons (to the house) so that would be plenty all considering. Those that come to the house, would be special cases and those who would be on the commercial lot, would be those that just need a get away..... makes more sense.
I can hardly wait to get this move over with - settle down and get the ball rolling.
I've been doing back taxes (an ex husband thing) and everything is presently packed in boxes waiting to be completed and sent out. That has a return that I'm anxious to receive.
I wrote a play as our first main fundraiser and the debut will be in Calgary. There's 3 acts and only the first has been narrated, so that definately needs to get finished to get some action going on on that end.
