Wolf Within

A sweet kitty cat on the outside, but ... Beware of that Wolf Within

So much has gone on after so much time off line, been trying to catch up on buddies blogs and reading whats up around and about in other's worlds, how time flies!!
The critters are doing great, the last 13 kittens we brought in, sure have been a handful - tyrants they are - full of piss and vinegar - shoulder buds some of them are when they realize your hands are too busy for pats... they give that look and leap quite accurately for a shoulder to park on and hang out...
I'm so grateful when they sleep!!!

I've got a new program coming up and since we had to submit 6 pages of paperwork for an address change with corporate registry, a decision was made to change our name - the initials are still the same and the dot com is still parked at animals-alone.com, but rather than keep butting heads, I think we proved our point and it's high time to get back on track and back to business at hand...
"A.nimals A.lone S.ociety of K.indness Services (A.A.S.K. Services) rather than A.A.S.K. Society of Vulcan County (too much of a sentence and a tad bold but hey after 4 yrs of hell, it was time to take a stand and be bold)
The newest program involves Seniors and is called "Foster with Love" - it's been on plan or over a year, however with all the commotion that was going on, the program kept getting pushed to the side, while we tried to stablize.
Now, on too many occasions, seniors have stated that they'd love a kitty (less walks and less responsibility) but they were concerned that "if something happened to them - then what would become of the kitty?" - well, this new program takes away that concern by omitting adoption and staying on a foster program till a later date - otherwords, it could be a week to ten years - PLUS - for those on single pensions only - we'll provide all the food and litter! AND, irrelevant as to whether we provide the food and litter, we will visit once a week to see if everything is ok, if they prefer we clean the litter boxes for them just to simplify things a little more for them, then so be it, it takes but 5 minutes and I'd like to think that they'll look forward to an hour visit once a week... if there's a problem, they can try another kitty, or call me 24/7 when they feel it neccesary to call...
Damn, we need something to take off, a bit of good luck would certainly be more than welcomed!!!!
It's a predominently retirement county, more folks in their 40's-50's than there is youth, so this animal assisted program holds alot of hope for the few of us who remain - it would certainly take a workload off my back while bringing life back into life for someone who'd appreciate the companionship.
fingers and toes are crossed....
goood to be back and have lots of pics and other from the time we've been gone!!!
Onwards and Upwards..............................
