Don't forget the nuns... They may (or may not) have not been sexually abusive, but a lot were not really "nice ladies"... R=UP R=UP R=UP Of this, I can attest to personally! The report on sex abuse in the Archdiocese of Dublin that was released last November stated that violence ag...

Two comments made within 24 hours of one another resulting in two apologies. Note to Mr Williams: your own church is in a mess. Let the Catholics sort out their own problems and you should turn your attention to keeping the creaky old CofE together. Note to Mr. Cantalamessa: the Catholic Church need...

Strange, but when I was young everyone curled, both city and country folks. I'm now curling in a hangover league and there are about 5 people under the age of 40 playing. Maybe they don't want to come out on a sunday morning at 0930? The one thing I can tell you is that if you get involved in curli...

Good move by the Tories. Already Ignatieff has given his approval. And of course it stalls the whole issue.

It really doesn't do much for our Parliamentary system when even before the Minister of Finance sits down the Bloc and and NDP proclaim they will vote against the government knowing that the Liberals are too scared to force an election. Iggy's comment that they will vote against the budget but not i...

I suppose it is a matter of judgement what you put in the guide. I see nothing wrong with mentioning that Canada permits SSM but I don't see it as a fundamental characteristic of Canadian culture - and we can't even claim that we were the first country to espouse (pun intended) gay marriage.

Happens every four years. Curling gets a bump. Then after the Olympics are over people turn back to hockey and the baseball season. BTW, starting tomorrow, the Brier (men's national championship) from Halifax. And in fourteen days, the World's Women's from Swift Current - shows you where curling is ...

And can we expect an election, Mr Ignatieff, if the PM decides to ignore your priorities? It seems like a two way street - will Harper make some accommodations? I hope he throws Iggy enough of a bone so we don't play brinkmanship again. Seems like time to hold the course. It is certainly not a comp...

Tiger Woods has a lot of explaining to do Yes, to his wife. And maybe to his bitches. But to his wife first and foremost. The rest of the world? Seriously, what do WE have to do with this? Tiger has been told by his former sponsors that if he wants them back he has to do the proper American thing -...

Interesting timing....Olympics are taking center stage. Such is public life though. If I had to make public apologies for my private life I'd need my own TV network running 24/7 !! I think it's a "play" to let the Olympics overshadow his announcement, but he can still feel vindicated that...

Seb Coe, as well as a host of Canucks for the final run. I don't know if Arnie has any special association with the Olympics.

Conservative voters will vote coalition because they dont like Steve though.

What will prevent Tories from doing that is the fear of the Bloc having any say in the running of the country.
