The company is alive by selling to the US right now. I don't think expanding its market will hurt it in any way.

Don't you think you are over-generalizing? I know a lot of Muslims who really don't give anything about most things related to their religion in public. Actually I have yet to meet a single immigrant who wants to impose his culture outside of his private space (house/shop). Yes we have a prayer room...

I've seen this mentioned around the forums quite a few times. I don't get it.

I studied political ideologies and Canadian liberals are nothing near fascists.

I'm quite new to the forums, could somebody explain to me why people make such claims?

Surveys (polls) are one of the most extensively used tool for social scientists. They're one of the most efficient way to define a population (more efficient than census and if well done can be even more representative than the vote results because of the % of people who vote). I don't see why peopl...

Then please explain to us.

There are many Serbians immigrants around my area, I heard a lot about it.

The three main words they used were 'hate, terrorists, and bastards.' Their speech was also seriously filled with nationalism, an ideology based on irrationality just like religious extremists.

16 000 strong? I didn't think that much.

How is the UN being kicked out positive? They're not there to wreak havoc, merely to maintain 'peace and good order' (Canadian constitution).

Also there were mentions that the conservatives can't win seats in urban area. Quebec city perhaps? And Ottawa has a conservative mayor. The political balance is swinging slowly. I had a talk with my sociology teacher about the election (she's a mid-left feminist so we always get good debates) and s...

Man why are we recognizing Kosovo? It's going to start more crap here for no reasons. Also why take sides? Serbians are nationalist extremist, and Albanians religious extremist. Both are as irrational. UN will probably end up having to go to Kosovo with blue berrets to keep a genocide from happening...

It depends if unemployment is low or high.

I know plenty of jobs that pay the minimum wage around Ottawa (mostly service jobs like waiter, fast food cook and those kind).

Wasn't the increase in minimum wage announced quite a while ago?

I see a lot of conservatives saying 'nobody wants that'. What the heck? Conservatives (not historically but now) defend a free market. Let the market go, and see if it survives or dies. Right now it seems the market wants them (or at least the U.S. market). Peer-reviewed study show that the average ...

You're right, I was off in my mathematic... I'm a social scientist, not a mathematician, sorry :P.

We're proportionally roughly half of what the U.S. is

Bad news for Canada. How is this bad news? It shows that people have faith in the current government. A government supported by his/her citizens is never a bad thing for the country, regardless of the ideology. We're definitely not going to get any elections any time soon now. Dion must be way too ...

Sorry let me rephrase that.

Relatively to how the counting of the votes began, the conservatives are losing ground (in BC).

My bad.

I agree with what you said though.
