I for one can live with that, as long as (like I wrote below) he maintains his prior (alleged) preference for consitutional government. My guess is he'll sell out the more reactionary right (the "liberals in a hurry") who are hoping for a Bush-style exertion of extraordinary and radical ex... |

Well, I visited http://www.stephenharpersaid.ca/ and had a look at all the "read the whole quote in context" links. It hurts the liberals more than it helps, having access to the full context might lose them their coveted BC battle... |

"Recently Stephen Harper claimed to have evolved in his views over the last decade or so." So he's become a "compassionate conservative", to borrow a phrase? Was anyone anywhere on this site at the Montreal convention? What went on there? Is Harper's change a result of populism w... |

"... and the American who arranged the coup" I think we were probably right in there on this "arrangement". i.e. I'm not sure "blame the Americans" is entirely correct. Also, I think you missed my point: the writer's prose is quite vulgar and as a result does nothing to... |

Wow, this article is offensive on so many levels. And I'm speaking as a Canadian: I can't wait to see how the "blonde bimbo", as this writer so eloquently puts it, reacts. I agree that the energy relationship needs to be addressed--the anti-free-trade supply guarantees in the NATFA and wha... |

Ed, I know you're not kidding about high-power lobbying and the various strategies used by the mega-multinationals to retain and expand their market share. My comment is only about this fella. My points: - I don't think Mr. oot-eh? (you're anonymous, you need a nickname like the rest of us, so pick ... |

I'm not sure that's quite the case. In this thread we're talking about central banks, though, and Canada does have a nationalized central bank (and governing Act). Dodge and Greenspan haven't always seen eye to eye, nor have the predecessors of each. Buried in his many speeches that are pro-globaliz... |

Individuals can share humour far more easily than politcial views. Laugh and the whole world ... ah that's cliche "fighting a totally lost cause" All causes in politics are lost, especially the ones that are "fought" (fights attract those for whom fighting is a perverse reward of... |

At least he's following you around for a while now. Thanks for taking the heat for a bit. "He's being fed information by his handlers" Please Ed, let's not feed the conspiracy theories, the men in black have far more profitable things to do. I know this is all tongue-in-cheek, but still, i... |

Hey, when did those nasty leftists change the "f-word"?

Probably after that time Dick Cheney couldn't resist using the old "f-word" when accused of using using state power to redistribute wealth.

<a href="http://www.washingto... |
