Personally, I'm impressed at how professionally the officer conducted himself given the obvious difficulties of the situation. As a member of law enforcement, I know first-hand how much a pain-in-the-ass people can be, especially with a crowd chipping in their two cents and the fact that race (and g...

For the record, the /real/ Lemmy would be a lot more chill and less "where's the line? whine, whine, whine".

Not nearly as bad as plagiarizing an essay a la Ralph Klein. The only difference, we gave Klein an over-whelming majority time and time again. Let's hope Ignatieff never gets the chance, at least Dion had vision (however poor).

I've been on a few message boards and the impression I get is that weapon misfires /rarely/ happen outside of mechanical malfunction Therefore, this discharge would have to be due to negligence on the part of the operator, am I correct? I don't hang around guns and so am unaware of how finicky they ...

For clarity:

By naming your child Muhammad you are creating a real-life 'artistic' depiction of Muhammad, are you not?

What I've never understood is the tradition of naming every muslim boy 'Muhammad'. Isn't that just as blasphemous as an artistic depiction? If the idea is to not create idols...wouldn't naming every little boy with the name of the prophet be tantamount to creating idols?

From a nationalistic viewpoint, increased foreign ownership is a bad thing. That stems from our emotional connection with our country and heritage. When the Hudson's Bay Company gets sold to an American, we cringe. When Molson becomes another division of Coors, a tear falls down our cheek. But at th...

Tell them M. Dion doesn't respond to threats or childish TV ads.. Right, because when people think of Dion, they think of leadership and strength. Not a limp-wristing, mincing, dandy with no spine or resolve. Dion always looks on the verge of tears or so scared out of his mind that one has to wonde...

Maybe it was May's comment that she wasn't allowed in the debates because she was a woman that forced their hand. Honestly, any respect I had for the Greens I lost when she spouted that bit of blithe ignorance. When you play the sexism card, you've already lost.

Boy, if only everybody had a gun, what a utopia that'd be  What's interesting, statistics proving that increased number of guns means more people using guns aside, is that in the Middle East you always see AK-47's being fired haphazardly into the air. Crappy South American countries always see...
