One saving grace today, it rained overnight and is raining now again. The temperature is only supposed to get to 16 and not much for high winds today. This weather is supposed to hit Slave Lake this morning cooling everything off. Hopefully this will give the fire fighters the break they need to get the fires under control. The water bombers were sure flying hard yesterday. They must be landing here at the Grande Prairie airport for refueling cause I saw them all day flying in and right back out east.

Wow, I keep thinking everyone has the same shitty weather as the coast.

Wow, I almost didn't believe my wife yesterday when she told me 1/3 of Slave Lake burnt down (now 40% according to the papers). Has anyone heard of any charities aimed at the victims of the fire yet? I'll definitely be donating to try and help out those who were affected.

You aren't too close to all of this are you?

Not really. Yet, out here, not considered to be 'very far away' either. About a 2 1/2 hr drive NW of my home. I live between Elk Island & Camrose. Were it not for the direction of the wind, we would definitely be getting 'smoked out'. Q & Rosie though...

Still windy and dry/warm here this A.M.
