Hello, I am looking for some people to talk to about Alberta Canada. I am American and planning to visit the Willmore Wilderness this spring and would like to discuss some of the wilderness details.
Mainly looking for people living close to the area of Willmore, or have recently been to the park. Thanks for your time in advance!

LOL, I don't think I will have any problems from bear, I carry no firearms, I use only primitive tools and hunting methods.
Just really looking forward to an amazing experience in one of the most beautiful places left on the planet!

I take trips like this often, and in my experience Bear don't really have any interest in bothering you unless you give it reason. Like keeping food near your camp or allowing yourself to become to close to a cub or din!

Willmore is a very popular location amongst avid hikers. If you really want the nitty gritty details, you may want to find a hikers forum. A few kids that used to work for me spend a lot of time in that area and love it.
I don't know what information you're looking for, but I'm assuming that would be a good starting point.

Yes, I agree. I have been to a few places where hiking the wilderness has been the subject. I have also spoke with park rangers as well. The information im looking for will come from people living in the area of Willmore, or who have recently been to the park.
I live in the mountains as I have all my life (with bear), so checking my mail box I find myself with bear issues daily.

The nylon in the back back and tents makes good ursine dental floss. especially when the bits of rubber from the hiking boots gets lodged.

Nylon? No sir, I as I mentioned above, I only use primitive means of survival. Including the pack I carry, as well as everything in my pack. If I cant make it, I'm not sure I want to depend on it!

I need information like, What are the native fish in the streams and rivers of the Willmore wilderness? What kind of tree's dominate the area? What the average daylight/night temp near the streams?

How deep are the streams/rivers? How wide? What kind of stones are found readily? Birds?
