Wild Rose Country, because it is.

Keeping our connection to Nature is more important than some ego stroking.

I'm gonna complain to the AHRC.

They're marginalizing us on the east side. I'll be pushing the Supreme Soviet CommisarsTribunal members to import mountains for us east siders to enjoy.
XD

On a serious note, there are some pretty interesting looking plates out there.

Time for a change, Wild rose Country is old and tired. Just like the Calgary Stampede and horses , cows and cowboys.

Maybe they should replace the rose with a dead duck and change the slogan to:

Keep your hands off our oil, Easterners, or else!

Strong and Free isn't bad, but it sounds better in Latin IMHO. Still, Wildrose Country is a way of differentiating us from B.C. who already has mountains on their plates. One suggestion that sounded great was Gateway to the Rockies.

When the Edmonton Journal reprinted this article this morning, it had a sidebar with a ton of funny suggestions;

New Newfoundland
Don't Read This, Drive!
36 Years of One Party Rule
Help Wanted
Boom or Bust (#4)
Falt with Big Bumpy Bits
Money Money Money
Got Oil?
Making Saskatchewan Look Good
Half of Saskatchewan Lives Here

And in our province. ;)

Us too. Last time I checked, Banff, Jasper and Waterton National Parks (all chock full of mountains) were located entirely in Alberta...but in case you're no ggod at geography, you can look it up on a map (everything east of the continental divide south of about 53 degrees is inside Alberta).

It's bad enough that the easterners forget about us... must you Albertans do the same now? :(

If you're coming from any where east of Alberta, we ARE the gateway to the Rockies.

I know ALberta has mountains. They're all on the west side, along the BC border.

We had so many of them ourselves, we let you have some. 8)

From our side, you're the Gateway to the Prairies.
