Anyone familiar with Slave Lake? I see a job opening in the plywood plant there. The Prince George paper is filled with high paying jobs this weekend. Unfortunately all of them are out of town.

I'm not sure actually. I like small towns, is it small? Pretty far north to I think, must get cold in the winter.

How about coronation? 3 smaller outfits doing a 10 inch poly water line here and a summers worth of work?

And I must say....the gals here are prettier then the gals in three hills or trochu.

Hey ziggy, I'm looking for work again. I want something a little more permanent than a summer though. I might get EI to pay for a class one license.

I'd be interested in anything you have ziggy. I'm looking at a lot of mine jobs right now. Plenty of high paying work out there, unfortunately none of it is near PG. Looks like I'll be moving again.

I have a brother-in-law that lives in Grand Prarie, just west of Slave Lake. The winters are not as harsh as you might think. They get some down-sloping winds that keep the temps slightly warmer than expected for that latitude.

I kept an eye on the forcast up there over the winter in comparison with Moose Jaw, SK and it was about the same or slightly warmer.

Housing is the expensive thing around there.

The weather in Grande Prairie and Slave Lake is pretty much the same as PG. They're not THAT far north!

Google Agnico eagle or Nuna for up north,Im far from home now and all my numbers are at home. They both have online applications if your in for that.

Elk valley coal corp. You get a job there and I'll get you a place to stay 3 blocks from the bus stop for fair cheap rent if you can mow the lawn once in a while. Then if you want to find a place you at least can look around a bit, things have jumped here and in the elk valley the last 6 years.

But if you dont mind commuting 30 minutes then small burgs like lundbreck or cowley have some cheap lots.

That's interesting, that's the place I was going to apply to this weekend. You must have given me that link the last time I was looking for work.

Try pipelining my friend.
you get to meet all kinds of good people and see the country and it's history and the pay is'nt bad either.

Our right of way is on the first railroad bed the Canadian govt. pulled from Alberta when the farmers couldnt make it profitable.
