This was the Alberta Amateur Provincials 08 this past weekend so nope, there wasn't any ramps TG. I guess they don’t do ramps, safety first. This was a bit of an adventure trying to take pictures, first of all this is a water ski lake (cough slough ) and they didn’t bother taking out the salmon course buoys so they were a bit to far out in the water to be getting good crisp pics from shore, to much zoom.

Trying to keep them in focus and in the shot when their cutting across the wake at who knows what speed is another thing.

I took over 200 pictures and none of these were in the first 150, so I wassss getting better at the end.

Old people water ski, kids wake board. ROTFL

If TG finds this I'm sure she'll explain it better. I do know now that wake boards are wider and shorter that a salmon ski.

GREAT pics!! :)

With Wakeboarding the speed is a bit slower so that you can get the good tricks and big air in...whereas with skiing the speed is faster and the rooster tails bigger...but wakeboarding is way more impressive because of the air time and tricks :D

And you would love it Brenda!!!

Sweeet! I love watching water sports. I'd love to learn to wakeboard, but I just don't have the balance for it. Plus I'd rather be behind the camera too. ;)

Awesome pictures!

You should all be charged with endangering the aquatic ecosystem.
Studies and statistics have shown that water sports scare fish.

You forgot to mention the ducks and how the wake makes them sea sick. :D
