I just wanted to ask people who have lived in this, for lack of a better word, "Province" for a long time to answer a few questions for me. I have asked several other people these same questions but none can give me any reasons why things are the way they are. So here is the first question:

Why are liquor stores not privatized?

In Alberta with a little leg work, I can get pretty much anything I want, but in NB I have to settle for what they put on the shelf. It wouldnt be all that bad, if they kept the wine selection the same. If I find a good wine at NB Liquor I have to buy 2 or 3 bottles because the chances of it coming around again is next to none. So then I have to roll the dice on another bottle, which I know next to nothing about. Right now I am drinking a 06 Woodbridge Cabernet Sauvignon, its very good, so now I am going to have to buy 3 more bottles, because I know its not going to be here next week and I wont be able to get it again.

I cant wait untill next year though, they say the bottem will start to follow out of the wine industry in the states. So for a bottle that would cost 80-120 now will be going for 12-25 bucks

There was only one Casabello.

After school on a Friday a member of UHFH working on the loading dock would always manage to slid a box over.

Vicious hangovers from that stuff.

That is part of the difference in NB for liquor compared to other provinces.

I visit NB every summer to see parents, and there are some wines at their liquor store I cannot get here in Ontario.
But there is some other wines and beers that NB does not have.

My visits to Sask. and Alta have shown me a lack of selection in their stores. At times I wish it could be like Quebec, where you can go to a corner store, or grocerey store, and buy a good selection of beer at a good price.
The wine selection as far as I am concern is not good. A lot of cheap wines not very nice to drink

At least here in Ontario, I can go to the Beer Store (run by the Ont. government) and find a good selection of beer from all over, or go to the LCBO (also run by the gov't) and find a wide selection of spirits and wines from all over the world.
I can even go to some stores and find some wins stores selling wines from local areas such as The Niagara area.
